The reason I chose this reading is because I was attracted to the title of this reading.

Maybe the title, “Helping Women and Girls,” is because I am a “girl” myself.

Rwanda faces exclusion from decision-making processes, discrimination, and economic pressures, affecting girls and women. Many drop out of school due to poverty, making them vulnerable to drugs, commercial sex, and HIV. The Lusa Program aims to empower young women and girls through small agricultural cooperatives, raising awareness on HIVIAIDS and women’s rights, and improving their quality of life.

I was very saddened to see so many women and girls in Rwanda in such dire straits. At the same time, I loved the way this NGO is helping these women and girls in their lives.

That is, they are not only helping them, they are empowering them with knowledge, etc.

I wondered why there is such a disparity between girls born the same and why they are discriminated so much just because of their gender, and I felt that I wanted to think about what I could do first.

In this reading, “Thinking and taking action has always been a priority for me. in my life, I have always wanted to think and do big, and I believe that In my life, I have always wanted to think and do big, and I believe that in serving people, you empower them to serve others as well.

I was strongly moved by this phrase.

I, too, want to think and act on my own, not just wait for someone else to do it.

I also hope that when someone helps someone else, like this idea, the circle of mutual help will expand.
