Hi, I’m Wendy. Today, I want to introduce you to “Honey”, a Fair Trade commodity.
In my opinion, I think there are two reasons why honey would benefit from a Fair Trade program. First, workers related to honey production can get reasonable wages. After all, although there are markets for honey all over the world, those shops and manufacturers do not necessarily pay those who manage honey production, such as beekeepers, as they should. This inequality can be eliminated through fair trade agreements. Second, is that it is not easy to obtain the source of honey. The most natural honey today is still mainly sourced from nectar collected by bees. Therefore, although beekeepers can stabilize the production by establishing farms, sometimes the production is still uncertain due to some force majeure factors, which in turn affects income. At this time, if there is a fair trade agreement, the interests of beekeepers will not be infringed. Based on the above, these are the reasons why honey would benefit from Fair Trade programs.
Hi, Wendy! I agree with you that we should have a fair trade agreement for honey.
And this is not only for honey, but for other unfairly traded products.
Hi, Wendy
I like your second reason and that makes total sense. Then I agree with that they should fair trade
