I didn’t know what fair trade was at first. But as I researched and understood it, I realized that there are so many Fair Trade products around me.
For example, cacao, cotton, coffee beans, bananas, spices, sugar, jams, honey, and beans.
All of this is included in what I wear or eat on a daily basis.
If I were to be around in 10 years and living the way I do now, I would not care about the fair trade symbol because I currently buy products without thinking about it. So if I am still in the same situation 10 years from now, I will not be able to support developing countries. If I can’t support them, I can’t improve the lives of developing countries, etc. But now I am thinking about Fairtrade, and I think that if I buy products with the Fairtrade mark on them, I can support them and help people. Therefore, I think that if each one of us becomes interested in Fairtrade and spread the word about it through TV ads, etc., the number of people who will buy Fairtrade products will increase, and I think it will work.
Hi Risa! I’m with you. I suppose to buy fair trade products is for the workers. Not only that, but it will also benefit us in a roundabout way.
